Courteney Cox‘s ex is to give her away. The former Friends actress (Monica Geller) and Northern Ireland rock star Johnny McDaid will be heading to the altar soon later this year. The Scream actress will be just a little unusual because it will be her former husband David Arquette, who will walk her down the aisle.
Websites in America are reporting Cox wants her former husband David Arquette to ‘give her away’ when she marries the Snow Patrol musician from Londonderry.
“Courteney has asked David to walk her down the aisle at her wedding,” an insider told Closer magazine.
“Her father passed away in 2001 and she’s been telling friends it feels natural for David to give her away given how close they are and how happy they’ve been for each other to move on.
Back in June, 1999 she and Arquette were wed and they share a daughter called Coco Riley together, but sadly they finalized their divorce in May, 2013.
The insider added:
“Courteney gave Johnny a list of heartfelt reasons why she wanted David to walk her down the aisle, and now he has a deeper understanding of their relationship.”
In 2013, McDaid and Cox started their relationship announcing their engagement in June.
At the time, Cox and McDaid revealed the news simultaneously,
tweeting the same selfie along with the captions: “I’m engaged to him!” and “I’m engaged to her!”
